Cost: Free (minus metro/food)
Time: 1-3 hours
You know this event is thrifty by the sheer number of Hipsters it attracts. That's right, I'm talking about LA Art Walk. The second Thursday of every month downtown hosts a free public art phenomenon, where galleries, performances,
and art activities are
scattered about a few square blocks of downtown predominantly on Spring and Main streets between 2nd and 9th. Some of the galleries open as early as noon and most stay open until 10pm. I would suggest taking the metro in and exiting at Pershing square to avoid traffic, not to mention the hassle and expense of downtown parking.
Also you are sure to find LA's finest food trucks with meals under $8 and often companies like Redbull and Ben and Jerry's hand out free samples to the public if you come before 7pm. As the night progresses, the crowd will grow, so get down there early to give yourself lots of time to explore. For more info click here.
